Why We Believe In What We Do

May 2005

Mr. Dunn & Staff at AEC,

"This is to try and show just a little of the appreciation that I feel for the help you all have given me. Words just don’t express the thanks that I feel. The tools helped get me a good job, and the boots you got for me helped me stay on my feet. They are great, thanks. My job has given me a $25,000 life insurance policy already and I have signed up for dental and medical. It only costs a few bucks out of each check.

Thank you for believing in me and giving me the chance to get a job that I enjoy… Thanks for being caring people. I can tell that you all really want and try to help people sincerely and I hope God blesses you all. Thanks for the motivation! You can tell when a person really cares. Thanks for allowing me to get a job that means something."

NOTE: Over the past two years, the percentage of persons still employed after 90 days (actually verified by the employer) has ranged between 55% and 70% each month. Many have moved to a better job and we cannot determine their status. To better track retention, we have instituted an alumni party designed to encourage graduates to come back to AEC to share their success stories with others. We anticipate that we will be able to identify additional employed persons when they attend the gathering.

One of the keys to retention is inclusion of benefits in the compensation package. In working with employers, we encourage them to include the workers in their benefits program and to consider paying a higher hourly wage to encourage the workers to remain on the job. Over the past three months, 60% of employed participants have received benefits.

Due to the relocation to our new facility, 2006 figures are based on 12months. During the 4th quarter average monthly job placements exceeded 30.
