• Since 2000, AEC has placed more than 2600 persons in permanent jobs. Approximately 25% of these job placements were for women with children.
  • The average cost per placement will be less than $1,600 as compared to a national average of more than $4,000.00 for similar programs.
  • As a result of a HUD grant, we partnered with two of Atlanta ’s strongest homeless service providers; Gateway 24/7 Center, which house the AEC/Gateway   Substance Abuse Recovery Program and the AtlantaChildren’s Shelter. Through this partnership, we have mutually enhanced the effectiveness of our respective programs allowing us to offer childcare and alcohol and drug recovery assistance to our participants, and our partners to offer enhanced employment services.
  •  AEC is part of a network or more than 30 Metro-Atlanta agencies collaborating to provide social services to those in need.
  • We are active participants with the Commission On Homelessness, FultonCountyCollaboration to Reduce Homelessness, GA Alliancefor Work Force Development, and FultonCountyOffice of Work Force Development. AEC is a United Way Agency
  • In September, 2003, AEC purchased our permanent home. A $2 million dollar capital campaign was launched. To date, we have raised 81% ($1.3 million) of our goal.
  • We are fortunate to have procured more than $231,000 of donated in-kind services to assist us in our capital campaign.
  • The new facility allows us to expand service capacity and offer state-of-the art computer training. 
  • Our new facility was made possible by the pro-bono architectural and interior design services from TVS & Associates.
  • National Cristina Foundation has helped AEC procure more than 40 Pentium computers for our computer literacy training class and computer center.
  • In 2004, AEC partnered with United Way and Enterprise Foundation to pilot an ex-offender program X-CEL (Creating Enterprising Leaders) to address the specific needs of integrating those with felony records into the job market.
  • In 2004 AEC partnered with the Georgia Corrections Industries to assist ex-offenders with job readiness and placement assistance.
